The US models of BMW after 2003 and European models after 2005 were usually equipped with a 4-pin seat occupancy sensor plug. The installation is very easy. Just follow the steps below. We also encourage you to watch our instructional video at the end of the article.
To install the seat occupancy sensor emulator:
1. Turn the ignition OFF.
2. Locate the mat connector which is under the passenger's seat - black 4 way plug with 3 wires: white, brown and red.
3. Disconnect the mat plug and replace it with the emulator's plug

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
After the installation, remember to delete the error using proper diagnostic software. When the emulator is plugged it does not mean that all the warning lights go off automatically.
The emulator helps only in situation when the seat occupancy sensor is faulty.
If something else is faulty, the emulator does not solve the problem! If an airbag control unit or a car electric installation do not work, the emulator will not help.
Every unit is tested twice before shipping – all of them work properly in 100%.
The emulator is a diagnostic device to check if the car installation works properly and to check if the error displayed on a dashboard is caused by a faulty mat. The emulator is only for testing – to check if the car installation works properly. If you make it a permanent solution you take responsibility for it.
When installing the emulator it does not matter if a passenger sits on the seat - airbag reliably fulfill its functions even without a passenger, that is going to work even when passenger seat is vacant.
ATTENTION!
If the emulator is installed you MUST NOT use child seats in the front seat! IN CASE OF A COLLISION AIRBAG WILL WORK!
