BMW
In regards to BMW with a 2-wired seat mat up to 2003 the destined market is not important . The distinction was made when the new 3-wires seat mat was introduced (first in the US models in 2003 and then 2 years later in the EU models). That is when the division into the European and the US version was made.
Both seat mats look the same, the difference is the way they communicate with a car. ATTENTION! Even though they look the same, the US and the EU versions of a seat occupancy sensor emulator cannot be used interchangeably! To provide you with a correct item, we need to know for what market a car was manufactured.
Destination market can be confirmed by checking VIN number.
MERCEDES
Since about 2004-2006 Mercedes started to install a new type of a seat mat (WSS with 4 wires) in cars to the US market. The best way to find out what type of a seat mat is in your car is to find it under a seat and check how many wires it has.
